In Turkmenbashi city, it was held the solemn awarding of war veterans Hadi Abdullovich Abdulin and Vyachaslav Mikhailovich Shimankin with the state awards of Republic of Belarus – jubilee medals on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of liberation of Republic of Belarus from fascist aggressors.
Hadi Abdulin served as antitank rifleman in the 260th rifle regiment of the second Byelorussian battlefront. In the battles for liberation of Belarus, eighteen-year-old soldier, who had the medal “For bravery”, destroyed three tanks of enemy and was awarded with order of Red Star for this heroic deed.
Vyachaslav Mikhailovich Shimankin - holder of the orders of Patriotic War of the first and second degree, awarded with medal “For bravery” and other decorations and medals for military valor, served under Homyel as signaler in 814th artillery regiment of 274th division in composition of 69th army of the Byelorussian battlefront. He was 19 years old. Veteran remembers that at the end of 1943, it was started mass attack of enemy by our infantry with powerful artillery support. Adjusting the fight of batteries, the signalers moved in advance guard of attackers. “We had not stream back as before, - Vyachaslav Mikhailovich says, - but gushed out with irrepressible waves and won over from enemy the springboard by springboard. Whole divisions simultaneously attacked, pressing the enemy. Everywhere, offensive fights were held on wide plot of Byelorussian battlefront and every day brought us closer to the victory”.
Deputy governors of Balkan province and Turkmenbashi city, officials of the regional and city councils of war veterans, representatives of other social organizations of seaside city took part in the current solemn awarding ceremony. Along with jubilee medals, the war veterans received complimentary letter of President of Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. It particularly reads as follows: “Seven decades in accordance with historical measures is a single moment, but according to human – a whole life. Several generations of Byelorussian people were born and brought up, knowing nothing about horrors of war. For this great happiness we are obliged to you and all those, who defended the independence of Motherland. It is not by chance the Day of liberation from fascist invaders became main national holiday in sovereign Belarus – the Independence Day. We express sincere filial gratitude for victory and postwar revival of the country”.
In the course of this event, Hadi Abdullovich Abdulin and Vyachaslav Mikhailovich Shimankin received valuable gifts on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In honor of significant date in the history of two brotherly people, the nation leader, who shows tireless concern about material welfare, health and spiritual comfort of war veterans, conveyed the grey-haired soldiers the television sets with liquid-crystal displays. Having thanked for awards and gifts, the veterans expressed deep gratitude to the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Republic of Belarus for touching and thoughtful attention to the elder generation, who were involved in common victory over fascism, whose heroic deed will be the example of military fame and selfless service to Motherland.
