Day of the Caspian Sea, being observed on the picturesque seaside of Avaza seacoast, was full of bright colors of holiday today.
Scientists-ecologists and employees of nature conservation state and social structures of the country, creative intelligentsia, mass media took part in the festive events. Among guests were the representatives of diplomatic missions of the countries of Caspian region in Turkmenistan as well as the largest international organizations – UNDP, OSCE, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, German Society for International Cooperation.
In the course of scientific-practical conference “Ecology of the Caspian Sea: international cooperation for sustainable development” held in “Hasyl” hotel, it was underlined that Turkmenistan is the example of constructive solutions of global ecological tasks, including initiatives on preservation unique ecosystem of the Caspian Sea, its natural landscapes, richest biodiversity.
Festive program of the Day of Caspian Sea included sport and cultural events, which were held on the territory of “Dayanch” children’s health center with participation of schoolchildren of Turkmenbashi city and young visitors. So, in parallel with the scientific-practical forum, here, it was held team football matches, competitions on basketball.
Schoolchildren also participated in the contest for the best picture on theme “Caspian Sea – my native land”, having surprised the jury not only with talented works but also interpretation on importance of preservation of wonderful but very fragile world of wildlife.
All participants of festive solemnities – adults and children have gathered in the afternoon in the conference hall of “Dayanch” Center, where it was held exciting ecological quiz. Some children demonstrated good knowledge about native nature, others learnt many new and interesting about nature reserves and picturesque parts of the Turkmen land.
Finale of the festive evening was a concert with participation of creative groups – children’s folk group “Miras” and “Ovaz” dance group of the cultural center of Turkmenbashi city.
