According to the tradition, the ceremony of laying flowers to the monument of the outstanding politician and state figure of the last century, the founder and first president of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, who is well-known all around the world, took place in the park named after this great son of the Turkish Republic in Ashgabat.

Every year, the workers of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Ashgabat, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan as well as local citizens, the heads of Turkish companies working in our country, teachers and students of the Turkmen-Turkish educational institutions in Ashgabat and journalists gather together at the monument on the day of death of the Turkish leader.

Those present observed a minute's silence paying tribute to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and laid flowers to the monument. Addressing the ceremony participants, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Preliminary of the Turkish republic to Turkmenistan expressed sincere gratitude to all those present and the people of Turkmenistan for the fraternal feelings and respect paid to the Turkish people's traditions.
