The festive events dedicated to the Harvest Day, which is celebrated each year on the last Sunday of November, were held throughout the country. In Ashgabat, the festivities centred on the equestrian sports complex, where the ceremonies in honour of renowned tenant farmers, machine operators, scientists, agronomists, breeders and agrarians, who had made a worthy contribution to the development of Turkmenistan’s agricultural sector, took place.
An exhibition of the achievements of Turkmenistan’s agricultural industry in honour of glorious labour of the masters of rich harvests, renowned farmers and the generosity of the Turkmen land was arranged. The products of the cotton, cotton processing, grain growing, livestock, food and textile industries, elite seed varieties and state-of-the-art agricultural machinery and equipment were displayed in the pavilions of sectoral departments and ministries.
Turkmen sculptors, artists and jewellers presented their best works dedicated to glorious labour of Turkmen agricultural workers. A colourful performance of baghshis, sazandars, palvans and dzhigits created a sincere atmosphere of the festival penetrated with the spirit of the national culture, traditions and rituals. Popular singers and dance groups from the regions of the country and Ashgabat presented their masterly performance for the guests and participants in the festive events. National dishes were offered with hospitality and amicability that are inherent in our people from ancient times to the guests in the festively decorated yurts. Pleasant aroma of Turkmen plov and pishme spread throughout the festively decorate square, inviting the guests and participants in the festivities to join a generous dastarhan.

Valuable prizes were presented on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan to the best tenant farmers, scientists, agrarians and machine operators, who had significantly contributed to the development of Turkmenistan’s agricultural industry.
The programme of the Harvest Day celebrations included the horse races. Winners in seven rounds received prizes.
