It was united Chandybil and Archabil etraps of the Turkmen capital. Parliament of Turkmenistan passed a relevant Resolution “On issues of administrative and territorial division of Ashgabat”. New etrap will get a name of Archabil. It will also include a part of the territory in 3910 hectares of Abadan etrap of Ashgabat. In view of liquidation of Chandybil etrap, the members of People’s Council – representative body of this etrap will be involved into composition of People’s Council of Archabil etrap until expiration of terms of their authorities.

According to the Resolution, in view of absence of population, permanently residing in Archabil settlement of Archabil etrap, it was put an end to its status of settlement.

As it was noted in the Resolution of the national parliament, it was passed within the framework of administrative and territorial reformations in accordance with the article 63 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan and Law of Turkmenistan “On representative bodies of local authorities” as well as taking into account the presentation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

According to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, Chary Akiyevich Baimyradov was appointed as the governor – the head of administration of new etrap. It was also appointed three deputy governors of the etrap.
