A working meeting focused on the Ashgabat Development Conception for 2015-2016 and elaboration of systematic measures to solve the tasks set by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in this context took place at the Mekan Palace in Ashgabat.
The key areas of the Concept were thoroughly considered during a recent meeting with the heads of administration of the city and its etraps, where the Turkmen leader focused on the development prospects of the capital city of the country. During that meeting, the Turkmen leader identified the key issues related to the management of the economic activity in the Turkmen capital and gave specific instructions on establishment of the conceptually new programme of the social and economic development of the main city of the country clearly defining its goals, priorities and key provisions.
The meeting at the Mekan Palace served as an initial stage for implementing a large-scale work given the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan and, first of all, it related to modernization of managerial methods, thorough coordination of involved structures and increase of responsibility of their managers.
The deputies of the national parliament, heads of a number of ministries and departments, Khyakimliks of Ashgabat etraps and the capital city as well as representatives of mass media, public organisations, etc.
The meeting agenda included the issues, which the President of Turkmenistan had paid special attention to demanding their solution in order to bring our white-marble capital up to a higher level, in the ranks of the best cities in the world.
Specific tasks were set to each subdivision of the municipal services and departments involved. Among the most important areas discussed by professionals and specialists was the balanced development of the city territories, including its remote areas.
Given the grandiose scales of construction and expansion of production infrastructure, particular attention during the meeting was paid to environmental issues in the Turkmen capital. In this regard, the meeting participants emphasized the necessity to closely coordinate the work of the government and executive authorities with public organisations.
It was also underlined the role of the local business structures in the reformatory processes taken place in the capital regarding creation of new jobs, increase of the economic potential of Ashgabat and solution of humanitarian issues.
