New town and villages in Ahal Velayat

The construction of new Abadan town is to start in 2012. The State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the relevant Resolution during the recent government meeting. To implement this project the Ministry of Construction is to establish the Directorate of Building Projects that is responsible for managing the construction projects of buildings and facilities in new Abadan town, developing the general plan of the new town, conducting the international tender for construction and erection work.

In accordance with the general plan, the construction project is to be implemented in three phases. The first phase is to be completed in 2012-2020, the second and third phases in 2020-2030. The interagency coordinating board that is be responsible for the construction of buildings and facilities in new Abadan town and consists of leading specialists of the ministries and departments concerned is to be established.

The implementation of this project is to facilitate achieving the goals set in the National Programme of Social and Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2011-2030, the National Programme of the President of Turkmenistan for the improvement of the social and living conditions in villages, settlements, towns in etraps and etrap centres for the period till 2020 and the General Programme of safe drinking water supply to settlement of Turkmenistan.

The construction of a new village in the territory of Yasmansalyk Gengeshlik in Ruhabat Etrap is to start in 2012. This decision was adopted at the recent government meeting. The Ahal Velayat Khyakimlik is responsible for developing the General layout of the new village, coordinating the construction of buildings and facilities in the new settlement and financing the projects. In accordance with the general plan, a 400-hectare area on the northern bank of the Karakum River is allocated for the new village in Ruhabat Etrap. Comfortable apartment houses and social and cultural facilities are to be built there. This project is to be completed in June 2016.
