On the threshold of celebration of the 70th anniversary of Great Victory in war of 1941-1945, a celebration in honor of veterans was held in the capital’s “Mekan” Palace. Under majestic vaults of the palace, as well as theaters in all provinces of the country in the solemn atmosphere, the war veterans and widows of dead soldiers received monetary reward and valuable gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
Officials and representatives of social organizations of the country, capital’s municipality, higher educational establishments and schools, workers of culture, numerous residents of Ashgabat have gathered at “Mekan” Palace in order to pay homage to heroism and valor, bow down before hoary with age heroes of war and labor, and sincerely congratulate them on great holiday of Victory.
On behalf of the participants of solemnity, it was sounded many kind and warm words of deep gratitude to the respected veterans. Contributors underlined that 70 years have passed since Great Victory but memory about names and heroic deed of our valorous heroes is eternal. They will live in the hearts of Turkmen people forever.

On May 9, as a good tradition, it will be paid a respect for dead national heroes of Turkmenistan with laying of flowers to the Monument “Baky shohrat” in the capital’s Memorial Complex “Halk hakydasy”.
On the day of Victory, a festive concert organized by the central Council of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and Central Council of War Veterans Organization will take place in the cultural and entertainment center “Toy mekany” in Ashgabat.
On May 9, solemn actions will be held in “Ashgabat” cinema, “Turkmenistan” and “Watan” cinema and concert halls, as well as at the theatres and festive squares of the provinces of the country. Concerts with participation of famous singers and musicians, talented variety performers, bakhshi will be organized by the Ministries of Culture, Education, Defense of the country, and capital and vilayet municipalities. Main heroes of numerous solemnities will become the veterans of war and home front. The residents and guests of the country, student youth, and representatives of work collectives will also take part in them.
