The ‘last bell’ rang for tens of thousands of secondary school leavers throughout Turkmenistan on May 25.
This year, the celebrations in honour of secondary school leavers are special as these are the first school leavers’ celebrations since the national school system was transited to a 12-year term of study in accordance with the Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of March 1, 2013.
By tradition, the best school leavers took part in the ceremonies of laying bright spring flowers to the magnificent monuments.
In the capital of Turkmenistan, the celebrations in honour of secondary school leavers coincided with the Ashgabat Day celebrations.
The best secondary school leavers from different towns of our country gained the right to be the guests of honour of Ashgabat for their excellent studies, victories in intellectual and art contests and sporting achievements.
Music played and an atmosphere of the marvellous festival, which marks the farewell to school and childhood and the entry into a new period of life, reigned on the concert stages in all the regions of Turkmenistan till late in the evening.
