New park of culture and recreation – “Arkadag” was opened in the center of Ashgabat, in one of the most beautiful parts of white-marbled capital, around intersection of Bitaraplyk and Atamyrat Niyazov Avenues.
It has situated on the territory of 7 hectares area, having completed the formed architectural ensemble from majestic structures – luxurious hotel “Oguzkent”, administrative building of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and State Development Bank of Turkmenistan.
Project of the park was realized to the order of Ashgabat city municipality by “Ussat” subsidiary production unit of “Ashgabat abatlayish gurlushyk” Production Association. It presents a complex of facilities placed on huge green territory. Immediately after wide flight of stairs of the central entrance, it was symmetrically set up the fountains in the form of octactinal star of Oguzkhan and eight-meter tower with watch was set among them.
Majestic arched design with huge monitors adorns the spacious square for holding large solemn events. Here, everything was accomplished for recreation of visitors – the decorative lights and comfortable benches. Pleasure paths lead to two cafes for 50 seats each, where it is possible to taste aromatic coffee, sweet dessert and beverages.
Designers paid special attention to the youngest visitors. Two children’s playgrounds equipped with special technological covers with a view of safety for health of kids, fitted with different slides and swings, devices for light physical exercises. There are also delicate summerhouses for family recreation.
Today, the officials of government and Parliament of Turkmenistan, ministries and sectoral departments, military and law enforcement agencies, capital administration, representatives of social organizations of the country and diplomatic missions accredited to Ashgabat, mass media, and student youth have gathered here.
It is symbolic the name “Arkadag” given to the park according to numerous desires of wide community of Ashgabat in honor of the nation leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
As the ceremony participants noted, owing to active concern of the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Ashgabat has turned into one of the most beautiful cities of the world, which is open for world as significant center of active international cooperation, as political, economic, cultural and scientific center of regional and global significance.
A large concert expanded then on the square was the festive finale of the opening ceremony.
