The opening ceremonies of three amusement parks – Alemgosar (Rainbow), Deniz Merjeni (Sea pearl) and Jadyly Kenar (Magic shore) – took place in the Avaza national tourism zone.

The remarkable landscape architecture projects transformed the look of the shore of the seaside resort.

On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers S. Satlykov, who arrived in Turkmenbashi town leading the delegation of guests of honour, attended the opening ceremonies in Avaza.

The parade of the building premieres in Turkmen Riviera began in the Alemgosar Park, where theatrical performances and concerts of numerous artistic groups that had arrived from different regions of Balkan Velayat took place. In their opening remarks the honorary elders expressed their best wishes to the younger generation.

The Alemgosar theme park was built at the request of the Ministry of Nature Protection by the Turkish construction company Sahin Insaat. It covers an area of over ten hectares, on which an artificial lake and a lot of entertainment attractions – many of them represent the latest developments in the entertainment industry – all kinds of swings and merry-go-rounds with the intriguing names are located.

The complex of entertaining water rides and a water park with slides and a ship equipped with guns, flags and other romantic entourage of adventure movies is located on the territory of the theme park which faces the sea. Several basketball, mini football and tennis courts are located on the opposite side. An amphitheatre designed for concerts and festive shows sprang up on the coastal strip. On that day, artists from Turkmen State Puppet Theatre performed a theatrical production based on a series of sparkling, witty and funny stories for participants in the ceremony.

The Deniz Merjeni Park was built at the request of the State Committee for Tourism by the subdivisions of the Ministry of Construction. It covers an area of five hectares on hilly territory. Hilly terrain is a specific feature of landscape architecture of the theme park that consists of two tiers.

The upper tier with the main entrance facing the quay of the seaside resort accommodates swings, merry-go-rounds, slides, ferry wheels, playgrounds and other attractions for children. The central alley runs from the arch entrance into the wide staircases down to the sandy beach. A lot of children’s playgrounds, cafes and pavilions were built on the lower tier. A restaurant with a sea view and a summer cafe on its roof are at the visitors’ disposal. Young visitors will find arcade machines at the two-storey cultural and entertainment centre in the Deniz Merjeni Park and make exciting discoveries in a 9D-cinema with three-dimensional images and stereo sound effects.

Citizens and guests of Turkmenbashi will play the billiards games. This sport, which is included in the programme of the 2017 Asian Games, which will take place in Ashgabat, is becoming increasingly popular in our country. The Federation of Billiards Sports of Turkmenistan has been recently established in order to ensure the successful performance of the national team at international competitions.

The First Billiards Cup of Turkmenistan has been recently held in Ashgabat.

The beach volleyball court, shop, two buildings with showers and changing rooms and other facilities are located in the recreational area of the Deniz Merjeni Park.

The main attraction of the theme park is the historical architectural zone where the very realistic models of famous monuments that the Turkmen land is rich in are located. These include the ‘copy’ of the legendary Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum and other world-famous masterpieces of ancient Merv, the Baba Myane Mausoleum, located in Ahal Velayat, the Kutlug Timur Minaret, located in Kunya Urgench, the Dayahatyn caravanserai, located in Lebap, the site of the ancient town of Dehistan, located in Balkan, the plateau of dinosaurs, located in Koitenda, among others...

The Jadyly Kenar Park is built at the request of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport by the Turkmen construction company Ceper Gurlusyk.

Over 40 buildings, technical services units, small architectural structures and infrastructure facilities, 28 of which are entertainment attractions, occupy an area of about ten hectares. Each of them represents the latest development in the entertainment industry.

The theme park represents the unique collection of entertainment attractions, along with various swings, merry-go-rounds, motordromes, trampolines, planes, railway and other playgrounds for children and adults that not every large city can boast of.

The entertainment attraction “Dinosaurs in the Jungle” with the life-size models of tyrannosaurus, diplodocus, stegosaurus and other dinosaurs produces the greatest impression on the visitors. A toothy pterodactyl, sitting on a rock, spread its wings over the terrestrial giants, fluttering as if it were alive. The models of the creatures that inhabited Earth hundreds of millions of years ago produce a menacing roar, frightening and amusing children and adults.

The wide alley that leads to the entertainment centre in the Jadyly Kenar Park is lined with the kiosks of ice cream, sweets and soft drinks, built in the form of the sailing boats with the running rigging. Breezy open pergolas and summer cafes and snack bars sheltered under light exotic tents sprang up on both sides of the alley.

On the opening day, all new playgrounds and sports fields were crowded with children and teenagers; many of them came there with their families. Children, who were spending their summer holidays at children’s recreational centres in Avaza, tried to visit all amusement rides and entertainment attractions. Artists from the capital and regions of our country performed on the concert stages in the seaside resort.

A multi-level parking garage for 266 cars was opened in Avaza on that day.
