The admission campaign to higher educational institutions and secondary vocational schools throughout the country was launched on July 11. This year, about 15,000 boys and girls will become first-year students at these educational institutions. 896 young people more are to be admitted in 2015, as compared with the previous year. This became possible due to the establishment of two new secondary vocational schools as well as the introduction of eight new specialities at a number of institutions of higher education.
These include Economic Cybernetics at Turkmen State Institute of Economy and Management, Shipbuilding and Radio Electronic Systems and Complexes at Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications, Electricity and Heat Generation Technology at the State Energy Institute, Chemical Glass and Glass Ceramic Technology at Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and Development of Mineral Deposits at the International Oil and Gas University.
Starting from this year, the Faculty of Military Medicine at the State Medical University will train specialists for sanitary and epidemiological surveillance services. The speciality of Art of Opera has been opened at Turkmen National Conservatoire.
A total of 7,128 students are to be admitted to higher educational institutions throughout the country in 2015 that is 267 people more than that in 2014.
Secondary vocational education is another important sphere of development of the national education system. In this regard, the Turkmen leader adopted the decision to establish secondary vocational schools under the Ministry of Communications and Turkmen State Publishing Service that will start working in the new academic year. It is planned to admit 150 young people to the polytechnic vocational school where they will receive education in six specialties and 45 young people to the publishing and printing vocational school where they will receive education in three specialties.
It is planned to admit 8,342 students to secondary vocational schools throughout the country that 629 people more than that in 2014. In addition, 30,000 boys and girls will study at 77 primary vocational schools.
At the enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on July 9, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree, approving the plan for admission to higher educational institutions and the plan for admission to secondary vocational schools in the regions and Ashgabat in 2015. In accordance with the Decree, higher and secondary vocational educational institutions will hold the admission campaign from July 11 to August 26 and on-site entrance examinations.

This year, along with admission to secondary and higher educational institutions of our country, Turkmen young people have an opportunity to apply to colleges and universities in the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation. This involves the training of Turkmen specialists for the Garlyk ore-dressing and processing plant in Lebap Velayat and the Garabogazkarbamid plant under construction in Garabogaz town in Balkan Velayat and other industrial enterprises in Turkmenistan.
Entrance examinations to higher educational institutions in Romania that offer Turkmen young people training in about 20 fields of knowledge took place at Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
