A scientific and practical conference dedicated to the country’s achievements in the grain-growing industry took place in the Agricultural Complex in Ashgabat on the eve of the big national holiday – Gala Bayramy, which is traditionally celebrated in the country on the third Sunday of July.
Agrarians, crop breeders, specialists of core research institutions, representatives of ministries and departments, public organisations, mass media as well as teachers and students of higher educational institutions participated in the forum. The guests of honour included honoured agricultural workers, labour veterans, the elders and heads of leading farms from all regions of the country.
The Exhibition Hall of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan hosted the artistic exposition showcasing the works of Turkmen painters, sculptors and gravers glorifying the inspired creative work of grain growers and inexhaustible generosity of the grateful native land. Meetings with best grain growers and agricultural workers were held in the Parahat Cultural and Entertainment Centre.
The ceremony of awarding valuable presents on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan to the best grain growers and winners of traditional contest – best combine operators, agricultural specialists, drivers took place upon completion of a plenary session.
Then the forum continued in sections held in the conference hall of the Agricultural Complex and the Turkmen Agricultural University. The agenda of the sections focused on the important issues of further development of the national grain growing industry, use of the most advanced agricultural equipment, the results of research and scientific works in seed production and seed selection activity as well as the use of the latest technologies in grain processing.
In the evening, the conference participants and numerous guests to the Turkmen capital, including the best grain growers and machine operators from all regions of the country, gathered together at the square near the grandiose monument "Ak Bugday" erected in the southeastern part of Ashgabat, where a gala concert with the participation of popular masters of culture and art was performed in honor of agricultural workers.
