The bright holiday Oraza bairamy, marking the end of the holy month of Oraza and the 30-day fast, has come today to the Turkmen land as well as the hearts of Turkmen citizens and all Muslims of the world.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated citizens of Turkmenistan on Oraza bairamy, focusing on the tremendously important role of the national holiday in the life of the Turkmen people which symbolizes the triumph of high spiritual values, such as humanism and charity, benevolence and moral purity.

Early in the morning the festive public prayers were offered up at mosques throughout Turkmenistan. People expressed their deep gratitude to the Almighty for creating peace and granting the trials of their virtues. Holy Oraza bairamy is observed in our country according to ancient tradition the same as the ancestors of the Turkmen people celebrated it – with the brightest feelings, noble thoughts and innermost like the big happy family. On this day people offer up namaz and visit their friends and relatives, friends and neighbours, wishing them all peace and wellbeing.
Our compatriots – 1,601 persons who were pardoned in accordance with the Decree of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the eve of Gadyr Gijesi and given an opportunity to change their life and redeem their fault with the society by their honest livelihood – shared the joy of the inherently merciful holiday Oraza bairamy.
Festive activities in honour of Oraza bairamy took place in Ashgabat and in all towns and villages of the country.
