Turkmenistan widely celebrated the national holiday Galla bairamy. The festive programme included the meetings and celebrations in honour of the heroes of the harvesting campaign, contests, concerts, sporting events, horse competitions, thematic art exhibitions and other cultural events held in velayats and etraps, towns and villages as a dedication to the golden harvest received due to the labour of thousands of rural workers.
Dastarhans and fairs illustrating the generosity of the native land were arranged in all regions of our country. By tradition, the white-marble capital of Turkmenistan was the venue for festive events. Specialists from the best farmers associations, renowned masters of heavy yields, grain growers and machine operators, who had gained the outstanding achievements in their noble profession, arrived in the Turkmen capital from all corners of the country to participate in the celebrations.
The main festivities took place at the Ashgabat Music Centre in the National Independence Park where the large-scale exhibition showcasing the achievements of the grain growing industry and other sectors of the agricultural sector of Turkmenistan was arranged.
The parade with participation of the honorary elders, agricultural workers, workers of culture and art, youth started from the Ak Bugdai Monument to the National Independence Park. They were greeted with joyful cheers, songs and dances along the festively decorated white Turkmen yurts. At the main entrance to the National Independence Park artistic groups and children’s ensembles greeted guests with colourful theatrical performances, musical compositions and songs.
Following an ancient Turkmen tradition, guests were treated with bread and invited to generous sachaks . The exhibition demonstrating the wide range of products of agricultural and processing industries spread out like a gorgeous dastarhan on the vast territory of the park.
The official part of the festivities continued at the Ashgabat Concert and Cinema Centre. On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, valuable gifts were awarded to agricultural workers, who achieved outstanding results in the 2015 harvesting.
