A session of interdepartmental coordination commission (ICC) on immunization issues has taken place at the Ministry of Healthcare and pharmaceutical industry of Turkmenistan. Except the ICC members - representatives of various ministries and departments of the country, the experts of the international organizations arrived to Ashgabat for participation in celebratory actions devoted to the 20th anniversary of the State “Health” program have taken part in its work.

Messages on successes reached by our country in prevention of vaccinally controlled diseases within the framework of realization of the National Program “Immunoprophlaxis within 2003-2020” have been sounded during the session.

As of today, Turkmenistan is one of the Central Asian countries with the highest immunization coverage. In particular, immunization against basic infections maintained by vaccination constitutes 98-99 percent. In accordance with the national immunizations schedule, children on a free basis receive vaccines against 10 infections: whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus, “B” hepatitis, “b” type hemophilic infection, measles, rubella, parotitis, tuberculosis, and poliomyelitis.
