A group of Turkmen pilgrims left Ashgabat for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The special flight was organized in accordance with the Order of the President of Turkmenistan by Turkmenhowayollary State National Service.
Our compatriots – 188 representatives from all the regions and the capital of our country –will be performing the Hajj to Mecca and Medina during the days of Kurban bairamy celebrations, where they will perform the sacred rituals together with millions of pilgrims from all over the world.
In Medina, pilgrims will visit the tombs of the Prophet Muhammad and his companions, the famous mosques and other sacred sites in the city. In Mecca, where the rituals of the Hajj will be performed, they will visit the most important shrines in the Muslim world, such as the Zemzem well and the al-Haram Mosque, where they will circumambulate the sacred Kaaba, following the ritual togap.
A meeting, involving religious figures, participants in the Hajj and representatives of a number of departments, who discussed the organizational issues of the upcoming event, was held in Ashgabat.
