One and a half million trees will be planted in Turkmenistan during tree and shrub planting season

Tree and shrub planting season has started in Turkmenistan. In the course of this season, up to December, it will be planted one and a half million deciduous and coniferous trees.

Long-term work on landscape gardening of cities and settlements is carried out under the motto “Transforming the country into blossoming garden” in the direction of the state ecological policy, which major landmark became the National Forest Program passed in 2013.

Landscape gardening in our country - a long-term work not only in cultural, but also in the natural zone based on scientific researches of scientists and efforts of forestry specialists. Annually, for such plantings in buffer zones of reserves, on recreational territories, within valuable natural objects, the employees of Inspection for forest and seed farming and protection of natural parks of the Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan grow up ten thousand plants, including rare and inscribed into Red Book. With support of local forestry enterprises, the ecologists also hold social actions on planning of wild types of plants in tourist zone of Kopetdag Mountains.

Autumn landscape gardening season also started today on the coast of Caspian Sea, first of all, on the territory of the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”. These actions are under constant supervision of soil scientists and gardeners, botanists and phyto-designers as well as the specialists of National Institute of Deserts, Flora and Fauna of the Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan. Work on decorative design of “green” zone of sea resort, landscape transformation and gardening of adjoining territories of hotels is going on. The attention will be paid to several kilometer-long extensive forest-park belt. Several tens of lines of coniferous kinds of trees are urged to create a special microclimate in Avaza, to protect it from winds, to stabilize the differences of level of ground waters and improve saturation of soil.

Planning of landscape gardening of Ashgabat and other cities of our country, selection of a vegetative material is carried out on the basis of verified assortment of plants, having relevant biological and decorative-economic features. Introduction that is addition in local flora of alien plants with a view of their subsequent use in creation of new green zones plays a significant role.

The international exchange of plant seeds and possibility introducing nurseries of the Botanic Garden of the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan contributes to the approbation of exotic plants from different climatic latitudes, their introduction into culture in the conditions of Turkmenistan.
