Turkmen-Russian documents are signed in Moscow

According to TASS, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Alexei Overchuk underlined during the meeting of the co-chairs of the Russian-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation that trade turnover between Russia and Turkmenistan in 2020 increased by more than one third, amounting to almost $ 1 billion.

"In 2020, the Russian-Turkmen trade turnover increased by 39.6% as compared to 2019 and amounted to almost $ 1 billion. The volume of Russian exports increased by 19.6%, the volume of imports increased twice", the web-site of the Government of the Russian Federation reported on the outcomes of the meeting between Alexei Overchuk with the co-chairman of the commission from the Turkmen side, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The parties discussed the issues of trade, economic and interregional cooperation, bilateral partnership in the spheres of health care, industry, transport, finance, education and other areas.

The RF Government underlined that the programme under development on economic cooperation between the governments of the countries for 2021-2023 served an important factor in expanding bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties signed the Intergovernmental Agreement on Promoting Interregional Cooperation, as well as the Agreement on Cooperation in the Implementation of International Health Regulations between the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the Agreement on Cooperation between the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and PJSC Transcapitalbank.

Moreover, among the documents signed were the Memorandum between the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia and the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics on the exchange of statistical data on mutual trade, as well as the Protocol between the FCS of Russia and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan on the exchange of documents and information on the customs value of goods transported between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan.
