Today, solemnities devoted to the Harvest Day took place all over the country. As a good tradition, it is observed on the last Sunday of November. In Ashgabat, the venue of its celebration became the capital’s equestrian complex. At the festively decorated complex, it was held the celebration in honor of leading leaseholders, machine operators, scientists-agronomists, breeders and other specialists-agrarians.
Members of the Cabinet of Ministers, officials of the Parliament, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, representatives of the ministries and sectoral departments, social organizations, mass media, workers of science, culture and art, elders, representatives of the capital and vilayet municipalities, student youth, residents and guests of the capital are among participants of the solemnity on the occasion of the Harvest Day.
Under open air, it was expanded the exhibitions of attainments of different sectors of agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan. Expositions present the samples of products of cotton and cotton processing, grain-growing sectors, cattle breeding, food and textile industry, elite sorts of seeds, models of agricultural machinery, and samples of powerful leading technique.
Turkmen sculptors, painters, jewelers presented their productions in dedication to the labor of farmers, having organized at that a colorful creative part of the exposition. Sportsmen demonstrated exponential programs.
Inspired songs of bakshi, competition of wrestlers in goresh and numbers of the Turkmen jigits augmented the festive atmosphere. Singers, song and dance groups of the provinces and capital also performed their creativity for participants and guests of the solemnity. The guests were cordially welcomed and regaled with national dishes.
Official part of the Harvest Day in the capital was held on specially equipped stage before the building of equestrian complex. The participants listened with great attention to the welcoming Statement of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the toilers, masters of rich harvest and people of independent neutral Turkmenistan. As the nation leader underlined, the Harvest Day is a bright expression of pride of our people for wealth created by selfless labor, rich harvests grown on blissful Turkmen land, triumph of love and careful attitude to native land. Harvest Day is a sign of high respect displayed at the state level to conscientious labor of the Turkmen farmers.
In continuation of solemnity, it was held the awarding ceremony of the leading specialists of agriculture, who arrived in the capital from all regions of the country. The best leaseholders, scientists, agrarians, machine operators, who made ponderable contribution to the development of national agro-industrial complex, received valuable gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
The Harvest Day in the capital’s equestrian complex was continued with the races organized in dedication of the national solemnity as well. As a result of the races, the winners were awarded with prizes.
