Agricultural specialists, experts in hippology and horse breeders participated in the meeting held in the conference hall of the Turkmen Atlary State Association.
The meeting agenda included the issues on the practical implementation of the horse-breeding development tasks and the results of large-scale work on increasing the number of thoroughbred Ahalteke horses.
Equestrian complexes were built in all regions of the country. There are three centres in Ashgabat and its suburbs – International Equestrian Sports Complex, Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Complex and Ahalteke Equestrian Complex.
As was reported, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the construction site of the horse breeding complex for 600 horses and the housing estate for 114 households, located in Geoktepe village in Gokdere Etrap. The Turkmen leader said that the new horse breeding complex would aim to promote horse breeding, increase the number of thoroughbred bloodstock and improve their reproductive qualities and breed traits and gave a number of instructions to relevant officials.
Those speaking during the meeting underlined the strength, agility and grace - priceless qualities that distinguish ancient Ahelteke horses from all currently known species, and noted that Ahalteke horses had become not only the crown of the national horse breeding but also the absolute evidence of the high development of the ancient Turkmen society that presented an outstanding unsurpassed piece of art to the world.
The forum participants emphasized the contribution of Aba Annaev in development of horse breeding in the country and his role in reviving the glory of Ahalteke horses. In this regard, it was suggested to name the horse breeding complex in Geoktepe village after Aba Annaev.
