This custom embodies centuries-old standard of high human relationships, being expressed in mutual respect, cordiality, friendship, moral and material support. Becoming etiquette of Turkmen, “gongshy okara” is the embodiment of unity of our society.
Tradition “goňşy okara” found a worthy continuation in modern Turkmen society. And today, while preparation of any dish, the Turkmen certainly take into account the fact that their hospitable home will be surely visited by the guests and neighbors, who have a share of delicious eatables – “myhman and gongshy pay”.
In the prosperous epoch of the powerful state, the native Turkmen traditions of good neighborliness were also reflected in the 20th anniversary of neutral status of Turkmenistan, which is an active supporter of the peaceful and fruitful cooperation with all countries of the world. In the capital of our country, the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy successfully carries out its activity.
