At the enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, held on January 8, the Turkmen leader signed the Decree, authorizing to present the US$1 million prize to the Hyakimlik of Yoloten Etrap, Mary Velayat that had showed the best results in the social, economic and cultural spheres in 2015 among the etraps and the towns equal to etraps.
In accordance with the order of the leader of Turkmenistan, the ceremony during which the well-deserved award was presented to the etrap, took place in the festively decorated conference hall of the cultural centre, opened a few months ago, in Yoloten town on January 10.
The cabinet ministers, the high-ranking officials and specialists of the etrap and velayat hyakimliks, public organisations, the elders and young citizens attended the ceremony.
Those speaking at the ceremony emphasized the stimulating role of the contest that has been held on the initiative of the Turkmen leader for the past several years to select the best etraps, velayats and town equal to etraps that most effectively fulfil the tasks of social and economic development in the framework of the ambitious national programmes and the major investment projects that bring the standard of living of Turkmen citizens at a qualitatively new level.
Numerous industrial, social and housing facilities have been built and continue to be built in Yoloten Etrap as well as throughout the country. When selecting the best etrap, such indicators as the fulfilment of contractual commitments on wheat and cotton production and storage and the implementation of the rural development programme in terms of construction and putting important facilities into operation, creation of employment opportunities, environmental safety, organization of cultural activities, health care and involvement of citizens in fitness and sport activities, are taken into consideration.
