It was published the fourth issue, completing the year of 2015, of the quarterly popular science magazine “Ecological culture and environmental protection”.
Magazine is opened with the speech of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the 70th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization held in September of the last year in New York, where it was passed the goals of sustainable development as joint actions for near 15 years.
It is continued the publication of materials about unique natural objects of the country – nature reserves. One of them is Syunt-Khasardag State Nature Reserve in the Western Kopetdag, protecting within several decades the unique natural landscapes made by ancient deposits and “young” mountain formations. Local flora is extremely diverse. The scientists considered these places as one of the world centers of origin of wild congeners of cultural plants. Today, it is undertaken the efforts for preservation of local natural complexes - mountain-valley woods from wild forms of common pomegranate, hawthorn, dogrose, walnut, Turkmen almonds, wild grapes, numerous rare and endemic plants as the Turkmen mandragora.
It is possible to derive much useful and interesting information from article about trees of the Turkmen capital, which age has exceeded hundred years. They are protected by residents of Ashgabat, because they are a part of the city’s history, its “old green residents”.
