The venue for the festivities on occasion of the big national holiday was the Turkmen capital, where the ceremony of lain flowers to the Main Flag of the country took place.
The ceremony of laying flowers took place at the festively decorated National Flag square located in a picturesque part in the south of Ashgabat, where the majestic 133-metre flagpole - one of the tallest flagpoles in the world, on which the flag of Turkmenistan flies – is installed. The cabinet ministers, the heads of the Mejlis, military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat, the elders, students, representatives of public organisations and the media cordially greeted the Turkmen leader on the venue. The heads of diplomatic representations and missions accredited in Turkmenistan, foreign businessmen working in our country and numerous Ashgabat citizens were the guests to the ceremony.
The national anthem of Turkmenistan was played. The National Flag was majestically flying to its inspiring melody in the clear morning sky, instilling the sincere feeling of pride for the beloved sovereign Fatherland in the hearts of the ceremony participants.
The flagpole with the National Flag of Turkmenistan installed in one of the most beautiful districts of white-marble Ashgabat at the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains is seen from almost any part of the capital. The green banner flying high in the peaceful sky embodies the indissoluble connection of times and generations, the rich history and culture, the Turkmen people’s wise life philosophy, their glorious past, beautiful present and aspiration for the happy future. The green colour of our Flag is the colur of peace and harmony, prosperity and creativity.
In a solemn atmosphere, a wonderful wreath was laid at the foot of the magnificent giant flagpole on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan. Then the ceremony participants laid flowers to the flagpole.
