In the Palace of “Mukams” of the National cultural centre of Turkmenistan there has been held a state concert with performance of arts’ masters of the country. The concert was dedicated to the 8th of March – the International Women’s Day that is celebrated in Turkmenistan, to our female nationals – mothers, sisters, and daughters and guardians of home and family and of wise traditions.
On this day, members of state, heads of Mejlis, heads of various ministries and institutions of the country, representatives of large-scale community-based organizations, representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of mass media, artistic professionals, and student youth have gathered in the Palace of Mukams. And most certainly, those who are responsible for the celebration -- our female nationals from all over the country, i.e. those to who have been awarded the honorary title of “Ene Mahri” with the Decree of the President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, were present in the celebrations.
The concert’s programme in the Palace of Mukams included performance of songs and musical compositions dedicated to such inseparable notions of Motherland and mother, patriotism and loyalty, spiritual beauty and poetic love. The end of the concert was marked by the performance of a patriotic song “In the Epoch of blessings and might”, performed by all participants of the grand performance programme and has united stars of Turkmen opera and pop music, choreographic and theatrical arts.
In compliance with the great custom of spring’s celebrations, there have been handing of presents in the form of money to all females of Turkmenistan, from the name of the President of the country, as well as honoring of mothers, female best workers of production, winners of various competitions that took place in all cities and villages – which all were accompanied with festive performances.
All cultural centres of the country presented to women as a gift their theatrical plays especially prepared for the 8th of March, connoting the best wishes to the female agricultural workers, entrepreneurs, housekeepers, handicraftswomen of national artisanship, renters and seamstresses, carpet-makers and mothers of large families.
Festive events were held practically in all theatres under the slogans “Mothers of the country wish wellbeing to the Leader! (Добра желают Аркадагу матери страны!)”. Professional as well as amateur performers have dedicated their performances to the notion of blessedness for being related to grand changes transforming almost all spheres of the economy of the country and to the implementation of socially-directed reforms.
Audience halls of three of the capital’s theatres have been full: in these theatres there have been premieres of plays, the main heroines of which were our contemporaries. Young talents of the Turkmen student theatre named after Alp Arslan, performed in front of the judging audience plays named “To you, our Leader, kind wishes from our blessed youth”, “You are – the Leader of Turkmen people”.
The poems and songs that were performed were of the beauty of ancient land of the Turkmen, of the gratefulness of the blessed young generation to the leader of the nation. The atmosphere of the plays in general reflected the feeling of solidarity, spiritual uplift that prevails today in the Turkmen society. The team of the State Russian dramaturgical theatre named after Pushkin was admired by the audience for the musical talents of its performers that performed a show-program in costumes that consisted of songs and dances of the nations of the world as well as a humour patter.
As is well known, the alley “Ylham” that was built by the initiative of the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, is the landmark of Ashgabat, alley of national glory because there have been set sculptures of great sons of the Turkmen nation in it, those who brought great contributions into the development of the Turkmen culture and spirituality, art and science. This beautiful park in the centre of the capital became a traditional location for conducting open-air celebrations, events and festivities. Hence, in the evening, there has been held a concert of creative teams and pop singers on the occasion of International Women’s Day, that was organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture and of hakimlik of Ashgabat city.
State circus has prepared a program on the occasion of the 8th of March, accompanied with songs, music and best circus shows including the participation of trained animals. On this evening residents of Ashgabat of various ages came to the circus, among which there were many young people and married couples with children and grandchildren. Participants of colorful and original circus performances, i.e. skilled jugglers and gymnasts, funny clowns and an excellent quality group of stunts on horseback of Ashgabat circus, dedicated their performances to women.
One of the characteristics of the Turkmen society today is the ongoing growth of women’s role in the processes of socio-political and economic developments of the country. Being the recipients of state’s attention and being generally appreciated, women of Turkmenistan work in most various branches of the national economy. Many of them hold highly responsible positions in the ministries and institutions and administration of Turkmenistan. Therefore, the main difference from last year’s festivity this year became the honoring of a working-woman.
To their honor there were many events held today: art exhibitions, creative meetings and poetry nights, concerts, competitions among higher educational institutions and among professionals that were held in the central squares in all etrap and velayat centres of the capital and the country, velayat theatres and historical-regional museums, capital city concert centres and in other educational and cultural institutions.
