According to the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan, representatives of Turkmenistan and the Afghan province of Herat met at the Serhetabat-Turgundi checkpoint.

Representatives of banking and financial, medical, law-enforcement agencies and other departments of the two countries attended the meeting.

Meeting participants discussed the current issues of bilateral cooperation related to the implementation of border, customs and phyto-sanitary supervision in the border areas, taking into account the current sanitary and epidemiological standards.

Particular attention was paid to the opportunity of increasing cargo passing through the Serhetabat-Turgundi checkpoint, as well as assistance in providing the Afghan side with the necessary medical equipment.
