On September 1, 2021, in accordance with the Resolution of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, humanitarian aid was sent to Afghanistan, the first assistance after the known events taken place in the neighboring country.
Medicines, protective clothing for medical personnel and medical supplies, disinfectants, medicinal solutions, protective masks, surgical gloves, means and drugs for the treatment of coronavirus infection were provided to the friendly country.
The ceremony of handing over the humanitarian aid to the Afghan side took place in the village of Turgundi in the Herat province with the participation of the leaders of the province, as well as members of the Turkmen diaspora.
The Afghan side expressed special gratitude to the leadership and people of Turkmenistan, who provide regular support to the neighboring country.
Significantly contributing to the socio-economic development of the neighboring state through the implementation of projects in the field of energy, transport and communications, Turkmenistan continues to maintain close international cooperation in the peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.
