Public transport of Turkmenistan is expanding the use of digital technologies.
For the convenience of passengers, the Agency "Turkmenavtoulagly" and the Ashgabat Motor Transport Enterprise have developed a new mobile application "Duralga" that provides the most up-to-date information about urban transport.
Duralga tracks city buses online using GPS technology. The user can receive data on the movement of a particular bus anywhere in the city. The application is already available for download on Android, and so far, it is designed for public transport in Ashgabat.
The new application can find the nearest public transport stops, build routes from point "A" to point "B", determine the location and time of arrival of the bus. With the help of an interactive map, you can view ready-made routes. Also, application users will receive "push" notifications about changes in bus routes.
In turn, the open joint-stock company Awtomobil ulag hyzmaty launched a new mobile application called Onlaýn taksi to call a taxi in Ashgabat.
When forming a call, the exact address of the customer is entered. Using GPS, the program determines the location of the phone and provides the driver with information about the exact location of the client. After some time, the customer receives an SMS notification about the arrival of the car. At the end of the trip, the client receives an SMS about the cost of the taxi service.
The fare is paid in cash or by bank card through the driver's terminal. In the near future, the introduction of online payments is planned.
The public transport of Turkmenistan actively uses new electronic tools for fare payment. Modern city-type buses are equipped with payment terminals - validators, for which there are three types of transport cards: general, for school students and for pensioners.
