The Cultural Center at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ashgabat took place a celebratory event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Iran.
Opening the celebration, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Turkmenistan Gholam Abbas Arbab congratulated the President of Turkmenistan and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country on the holiday and noted that this event coincides with the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
According to the head of the diplomatic representation of Iran, Turkmenistan and Iran are united by a border of friendship, as well as a centuries-old historical, confessional and civilizational commonality. For Turkmenistan, Iran is one of the largest economic partners, in cooperation with which dozens of major projects have been implemented and are at the stage of implementation, which are of priority importance for strengthening bilateral relations.
The Iranian Ambassador also emphasized that President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in turn, also sent heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and all the people of Iran on the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries. He also reminded that the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, paid a working visit to Turkmenistan on November 27-28, 2021, taking part in the 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
The Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan also noted with particular enthusiasm the significance of the significant results achieved during the recent January working visit of a government delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov to Tehran to hold working meetings on important aspects of relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Navid Rasuli, cultural attache of the embassy, head of the Cultural Center of the Iranian Embassy in Ashgabat, spoke about the cultural and good neighborly relations between Iran and Turkmenistan. He also summed up the results of the competition of publications on the topic "Iranian studies", for participation in which more than 70 participants sent their works from all over Turkmenistan. Three of them were awarded valuable prizes and diplomas.
The celebration was attended by representatives of the media, the public, students and employees of various industries of Turkmenistan. At the end of the meeting, cultural figures performed a musical program.
