Ashgabat completes with the support of OSCE the practical course in online journalism, attended by forty students of International University of Humanities and Development.
Training topics include comprehensive technological environment, journalistic ethics and the use of information resources. Students are familiarized with the principles of the Internet Mass Media, analyzed the structure of texts and techniques of presenting articles to on-line journalism. As part of a four-day course are also discussed methods and approaches to information visualization.
- Internet journalism provides journalists a wide opportunities, including new ways of gathering and dissemination news, establishment of reports and interaction with the audience, - said Natalya Drozd, Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat. - Modern journalists should be dynamic, easy to navigate in the Internet space, adapt to new working conditions in media resources, pay due attention to the basic criteria of journalistic work, such as writing articles, conducting interviews, and verification of the facts.
The course has been included simulation game of the press conference, during of which act as representatives of government agencies, national and international mass media. As a result of the press conference, the students write a short article.
"Such events testify to the successful cooperation with Turkmenistan in the field of journalism education, and I am sure that they will contribute to the improvement of professional skills of students and their potential in the context of the development of modern information technologies", - added Natalya Drozd.
The next week, Institute of International Relations of Turkmenistan under the MFA of Turkmenistan is planning to hold similar training.
