The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) together with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) held a cultural and educational campaign at the Dayanch Children's Health Center in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. The action was timed to coincide with the Scientific and Practical Conference "The Caspian Sea - the Sea of Friendship and Consent", organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.
The purpose of the event is to increase the environmental awareness of children, to form in them a careful attitude towards nature, the environment, and also to make them comprehend their behavior in relation to rational consumption.
As part of the action, children learned about the international experience of waste management and rational use of the world's ocean resources with the help of various games. For them, they also organized competitions in fine arts and sculpting figures from plaster.
The action is part of the project of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and UNDP "Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Comprehensive Development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Avaza". Currently, as part of its implementation, "green" standards are being introduced in the hotel sector.
