A thematic lecture on the integration of social and environmental aspects into development projects was organized at the Turkmen State Medical University named after Myrat Garryyev by the United Nations Development Program. In particular, for future medical workers, the healthcare sector was affected.

The meeting is part of a series of lectures held by the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan in honour of the 30th anniversary of the country's accession to the UN.

The development of effective solutions to potential social and environmental risks arising during the implementation phase of development projects requires the active participation of all stakeholders. In this regard, the role of young people, who can play a special role in establishing these processes, cannot be underestimated.

UNDP specialists spoke about the current project to the COVID-19 response project in Turkmenistan. The importance of ensuring the resilience of health systems and their readiness for future threats by increasing adequate investments, positioning health as a key factor in socio-economic development was noted. Proper investments in preparedness health emergencies enable countries to build the capacity to anticipate, detect and respond to future health threats and emergencies.
