The International Internet Olympiad in Biology brought together a large number of young lovers of this science on one virtual platform of the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after M. Garryyev.

Students of Turkmen universities, as well as students representing higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan, England, Armenia, Belarus, Germany, Italy, Canada, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan, Turkey, Russia and a number of other countries tested their knowledge of the subject.

According to the results of the Olympiad, held in three languages - Turkmen, Russian and English, the leaders of the intellectual competition were determined.

The winners of the first prizes were students representing the Turkmen State Medical University named after M. Garryyev, the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, and the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly.

According to the number of the highest points earned in the group, the student team of the Turkmen State Medical University named after M. Garryyev ranked first, with 265 points.

The second place went to the team of the Astrakhan State Medical University of the Russian Federation, which earned 257 points.

The third in the group scoring was the team of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, which scored 224 points.

The knowledge of students was assessed by an international jury, headed by the director of the National Institute of Deserts, Flora and Fauna of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, candidate of biological sciences P. Kepbanov.

The International Internet Olympiad in Biology among higher educational institutions was organized and held as part of the effective implementation of the «Concept for the Development of the Digital Education System in Turkmenistan» and «The Concept for Improving the Teaching of Natural and Exact Sciences in Turkmenistan».
