Speaking about their joy and pride in the unprecedented achievements of our Motherland, war veterans expressed cordial gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the epoch of power and happiness gifted to the people of Turkmenistan, for the concern about war veterans and families of fallen soldiers, numerous benefits and favourable social and living conditions created for them.
War veterans were invited to the concert entitled “The son respecting the brave heroes of the Motherland” performed at the Turkmen National Conservatoire. The orchestra of wind and percussion instruments of the university performed the songs of the war years, the works inscribed the golden fund of the world musical art, including G. Bizet, A.Shatrov, I. Brahms, E.Di Capua, L.Denz, K.Dinica, A.Novikov, K.Monti and Turkmen composers - N.Muhatov, H.Amangeldiev, B.Hudaynazarov, R.Redjepov, B.Hudayberdiev, etc. The concert that gifted great inspiration and positive emotions to the audience, completed with the song "Victory Day" taken up by all participants of the event.
The musical and drama performance “Turkmen woman, who cleaved to the hearth and home” dedicated to modest workers on the home front - wives and mothers who underwent all hardships of war, was arranged at Magtymguly Turkmen National Music and Drama Theatre. This event became another symbol of admiration for the greatness of the Turkmen women’s feat that was akin to the heroism of their beloved husbands, sons and brothers. The play Hakyda was demonstrated within the framework of the festivities.
A.S. Pushkin State Russian Drama Theatre invited the people of Ashgabat and guests to the Turkmen capital to enjoy the theatrical performance entitled “The school of courage”. Theatre actors recited poems, sang songs of the times of war, and performed various sketches recreating the heroism of people who presented peaceful and happy life to us.
Mollanepes Turkmen Students’ Theater presented a drama and musical performance entitled “Eternal Heroes”. The students of the Turkmen Institute of Culture recreated the images of heroic war veterans, their beloved mothers, wives and children.
It was crowded at Ylham Alley, one of the most beautiful and poetic parts of Ashgabat, where a big concert with the participation of famous singers and musicians, as well as young singers was presented.
The cultural events dedicated to the glorious date of the national calendar have become a prelude to the grand celebrations on the Victory Day. The morning of May 9 will begin with the ceremony of laying flowers to the Monument to the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the Eternal Flame in Ashgabat, the obelisks of glory and memorial monuments in memory of the war and its heroes. The epicenter of festivities will be the Ashgabat Cinema and Concert Center, where famous singers and musicians, dance and folk groups of the country will perform a concert in the evening.
