The 13th issue of the Turkmen Arhivi historical and documentary, scientific and methodological journal published in the Turkmen and Russian languages appeared in print. The issue including over 50 articles starts with the material on awarding the title of the Hero of Turkmenistan to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The publications dedicated to important events in the life of the country based on detailed analysis of the key macroeconomic indexes of the national economy, the authors recreates the broad picture of the grandiose achievements of the Turkmen people in all spheres of the national economy of Turkmenistan, and the efficient steps taken along the further democratization of the state and society.

The publications issued under the heading entitled “The life of archives” tell about the history of developing the archives in Turkmenistan, as well as about organization of work of a velayat state archive and participation of Turkmen specialists in the international book fair. The scientific reports published under the heading “people, events, facts”, “Echo of centuries: pages of history”, “History and historians” present a lot of little known data.

The section entitled “There was a war…” familiarizes readers with additional information to the five-volume books “Hatyra” and “Shohrat” published earlier dedicated to Turkmen soldiers who fought against fascism in 1941-1945. The publications about Turkmen women who displayed courage during the years of war are also published under the heading.

The major part of the publications of this issue is dedicated to popularization of the rich historical, cultural and spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people. Among them are articles telling about the medieval libraries of Merv and their founders, about the works of Academician V.V.Bartold over a famous epos “Gorkut ata”, the maters of musical art of Turkmenistan, writers V.R. Kozin, painter D. Bayramov, etc.

The heading “Window into the past. Photo archive” presents unique photos vividly illustrating the history of developing the friendly Turkmen-Indian relations.

The articles published in the issue are based on the documentary sources and archive materials.
