Vaccination is the pledge of successful prevention of infectious diseases. Turkmenistan is one of the Central Asian countries with the highest population coverage of immunization. In particular, immunization against major infections, being controlled by means of vaccines, totals 98-99%. Having self-sufficient immunization system, Turkmenistan constantly improves its National calendar of prophylactic vaccinations with a view of improvement of health on the basis of equality and justice and taking into account concrete needs of the healthcare system.

If earlier, immunization was conducted against major infections such as poliomyelitis, tuberculosis, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough, measles, then now owing to expansion of cultural, socio-economic and other relations between countries and taking into account unstable situation on infectious disease associated with this process new perfect and combined vaccines appear in the world. These vaccines increase the possibility of the healthcare system in prevention of transboundary spread of the infections.

Vaccines, which passed the control of quality and correspond with the international standards, are used for immunization in our country. In all stages of production, transportation, storage and use of vaccines, it is observed the requirements of temperature conditions, which provide the preservation of efficiency of vaccines. Vaccines, applied for immunization, are high-performance and safe. Every vaccination is safe by hundred times than a disease it protects from. Medical workers, who passed special training, are admitted to vaccination.

Ministry of Healthcare and Medical industry of Turkmenistan constantly improves and increases the logistics of sanitary-and-epidemiologic services. 68 special storehouses for keeping of vaccines are functioning all over the country. The State sanitary-and-epidemiologic service of Turkmenistan regularly organizes seminars on professional training of workers of primary health care with a view of rendering safe immune-prophylactic aid, corresponding with the international standards.

Confirmation of success in the field of eradication of measles and rubella in Turkmenistan became the message of director of the European Bureau of World Health Organization Zhuzhanna Yakob, where it is noted that since 2008, no case of measles and rubella was registered in Turkmenistan. To the opinion of international experts, it is a great attainment in realization of the national immunization programs.

It is carried out a large educative work, which purpose is the explanation among population of the country about necessity to vaccinate in accordance with the National calendar of immunization for child protection. At that, it is very important for children to have whole course of vaccination. Otherwise, these vaccinations can be ineffective, i.e. the immunity of a child can not be active to a series of infectious diseases. Vaccinations are particularly effective, when they are done in due terms or close to them. Children, having had vaccinations, are protected from dangerous diseases. All children have a right for such protection.
