The two-day seminar on the Role of Intellectual Property for National Development organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) jointly with the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan took place at the President Hotel in Ashgabat.
The world experience in solution of the regulatory and legal issues related to the rights to intellectual property, the work of the World Intellectual Property Organization, including the sphere of copyrights and collective rights management, and their protection were discussed during the seminar. The training programmes and treaties of the World Intellectual Property Organization were also considered during the meeting. Particular attention was paid to implementation of the international experience in the national system of the intellectual property protection in Turkmenistan.
In conclusion, the forum participants called for enhancing international cooperation and expressed the aspiration for developing efficient exchange of experience with the World Intellectual Property Organization and other international structures in this sphere.
