The ceremony of signing the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline service agreement with Transactional Advisor between the Turkmengaz State Concern, the Afghan Gas Corporation, Inter State Gas Systems (Private) Limited (Pakistan), Gail (India) Limited (India) and the Asian Development Bank took place in the framework of the international oil and gas forum in Ashgabat.
The necessary legal and commercial documents have been prepared. The gas sales agreements between the entities of the TAPI countries have been signed. Thus, the sides are ready to establish TAPI Ltd., which will implement the project.
The Asian Development Bank acts as Transaction Advisor for the TAPI gas pipeline project. Its main objective is to establish TAPI Ltd. and attract a commercial consortium leader.
As is known, the length of the gas pipeline is 1,735 kilometres, 200 kilometres of which is to be built on the territory of Turkmenistan, 735 kilometres - on the territory of Afghanistan, 800 kilometres - on the territory of Pakistan to Fazilka village on the border with India. The annual pipeline capacity is to be 30 billion cubic metres.
