New marine passenger terminal was opened in Turkmenbashi city

In the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi city, it was held the opening ceremony of a regular infrastructural facility - marine passenger terminal.

Among the ceremony participants are the representatives of vilayet and city municipalities, State Service for sea and river transport of Turkmenistan, social organizations, honorable elders and numerous youth. On the open area at new building, it is expanded the musical performance: creative groups of Balkan demonstrate their mastery and perform the bright folk and dance compositions.


National builders of “Hazar kenary” Economic Union constructed new marine passenger terminal to the order of the State Service for sea and river transport of Turkmenistan. Total area of the building of original construction is over 800 square meters. Waiting room with bookings, inquiry office, exchange office, cloakroom, coffee bar and shop of souvenirs are at the service of passengers. It was envisaged the place for recreation of passengers with children, first-aid post and others. Administrative and technical rooms were fitted with all essential equipment. 51-meter long pier was constructed for embarkation of passengers on ships. Adjoining territory of the complex was accomplished and planted with trees.

It is worth mentioning that within the framework of scale investment project of construction in Turkmenbashi city of new International Seaport, super modern passenger terminal with hotel, trade and entertainment centers is planned to be constructed in the near future on the coast of the Caspian Sea. Moreover, presently, new passenger terminals are built in Gyzylsuw settlement located on the island of the same name and Hazar city. As a whole, the realization of “General Plan of Development of Turkmenbashi International Seaport and Turkmen shipping until 2020” will undoubtedly contribute to further increase of the volume of marine freight and passenger traffic.
