ELOU-AT-7 atmospheric oil refining device with the capacity of three million tons of oil and general plant equipment were put into operation at Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries.
On the instruction of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, cabinet ministers, heads of branch departments of the fuel and energy complex, khyakims of the city of Turkmenbashi and Balkan Velayat, specialists of Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries, the elders and youth attended the festive event.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of foreign companies, including the Dutch company “Alliance Engineering and Construction BV” that concluded the contract for the construction of the electric desalter and dehydrator with Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries, and the British company “Petro Gas LLP»” - general contractor for general plant equipment.
The innovative technologies of construction used for building the electric desalter and dehydrator and aggregate assembling of engineering units will ensure the reliable operation of the device and bring the primary crude oil processing at Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries to a higher level of environmentally friendly and non-waste production.
The ceremony participants visited the central control unit. According to the project, it will be the control center for electric desalter and dehydrator units No. 2, 6 and 7. The total annual capacity of the units will be 7.5 million tons of processed raw material.
Electric desalter and dehydrator unit No. 7 will process the optimal mixture of oil produced at Koturtepe and Okarema. The estimated capacity of the new production is comparable with the biggest primary crude oil processing plant. Gasoline, kerosene, diesel oil and fuel oil will be produced there as raw materials and commercial oil. Light and heavy gasoline will be used for the production of environmentally friendly high-octane gasoline at the isomerization and catalytic reforming units. TS-1 aviation fuel and hydrotreated diesel fuel - products with high added value will be produced from kerosene and solar oil fraction through technological cleaning.
The diesel fuel and kerosene alkali treatment units was installed at the site for electric desalter and dehydrator units No. 6 and 7. The construction of this unit is based on the efficient use of the industrial area and the requirements of environmental protection. The circulating water and air-cooling systems will be used there given the ‘green technologies’ aspect.
The environmentally friendly approach to the construction of industrial facilities is a priority condition for widening the production capacities of Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. Using the advanced resource-saving and environmentally proved technologies, petroleum refiners produce dozens varieties of petrochemical products. Among them are high-octane gasoline, aviation fuel, kerosene, liquefied gases, a wide range of lubricating oils, hydrotreated diesel fuel, electrode coke, granulated polypropylene, synthetic products and other goods that are in demand at the local and foreign markets.
After the ceremony of putting electric desalter and dehydrator units No. 7, the celebrations continued on the site of the plant facilities. It includes a boiler to develop a medium pressure steam with the capacity of 60 tons per hour, compressed air production plant with the capacity of 16 500 m3 per hour and the nitrogen gas generation unit with the capacity of 1000 m3 per hour and 100 m3 of liquid nitrogen per hour.
The commissioning of new production capacities will significantly increase the potential of production of advanced products with guarantees of oil refining volumes for more than ten million tons per year. Continuous increase of production of petroleum products with improved composite properties will be a permanent factor in strengthening and widening the variety of export products on the world market of petrochemical products.
