The construction of the giant of chemical industry, the carbamide plant if Garabogaz, Balkan Velayat, undergoes at high rates. In June, the specialists of the consortium, established by Japanese company “Mitsubishi Corporation” and construction company “Gap Insaat” of “Chalyk Holding”g roup from Turkey, which are implementing the project for industrial processing of natural gas to ammonia and carbamide, will start phased commissioning of the latest technological equipment.
According to the board of directors of the enterprise, which client is the State Concern “Turkmenhimiya”, more than 80 percent of the equipment necessary for production of ammonia and carbamide are installed by “Mitsubishi Corporation” at the construction site of future plant. Another member of the consortium, “Gap Insaat” fulfilled 66 per cent of construction works, at the same time, the contractors build living complex for future personnel of the enterprise. At present moment, there are more than 5.5 thousand workers at the facility, the majority of which are Turkmen specialists. 350 units of construction and specialized equipment is used.
High capacity production for deep processing of natural gas and producing of items meeting international quality standards is established on the base of modern technologies. The specialists of the consortium laid modern technologies, which are able to provide ecological safety and highly efficient processing of gas, as a foundation on every phase of production of mineral fertilizers. Thus, the technology of Danish company «Haldor Topsoe AS» and American company «UOP»,will be used during ammonia production while the technology of Italian «Saipem» will be used during carbamide synthesis. The technology of Dutch «Unde Fertilizer» is to be applied during granulating of concentrated carbamide solution.
Training of qualified personnel is organized at the enterprise for successful mastering of newest technologies laid in production. For this purpose, more than 270 young people study in Garabogaz branch of Turkmenababt Technical Professional School of the State Concern “Turkmenhimiya”. Experienced lecturers and specialists of chemical industrial enterprises “Tejencarbamide” and “Marycarbamide” train the personnel. The students undergo practical works at the enterprises of the State Concern “Turkmenhimiya”.
According to the project, new carbamide plant will produce mineral fertilizers from the material delivered by gas pipeline “East – West” for the deposits of natural gas, the output production capacity is 2000 tons of ammonia and 3500 tons of carbamide per day.
Putting of mineral fertilizers enterprise into operation will allow multiplying profitability of the chemical industry what in its turn will increase export capabilities. Annual volume of nitrogen fertilizers produced in the country will exceed 2 million tons. The third of the production will be used for internal market and the rest for the export.
Taking into account the fact that natural gas will be the main material for new industrial giant, export capabilities of chemical and gas processing industry will be considerably expanded for the output of production required on the world’s markets. What is most important, the occupancy of the population will be increased with the opening of new plant.
In his time, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, having studied the project, noted favourable location of the enterprise at the coast of the Caspian Sea, from where ready made production is able to be shipped to the consumers by marine vessels and road transport.
The presence of richest material resources allows Turkmenistan entering the number of largest producers of iodine, bromine and large spectrum of other chemical items. In this regard, the construction of plant in Garabogaz, which is a source of most valuable chemical components and which 2golden bottom” serves as a material base for sulphate industry, is another step on the way of Turkmenistan to industrially developed state.
