On March 31, 2026, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Batyr Rejepov, and the Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KISI), Zhandos Shaimardanov.
During the constructive conversation, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, and exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda.
Special attention was paid to the key role of Turkmenistan in ensuring regional stability and sustainable development. The Director of KISI expressed confidence that Ashgabat's active position and creative initiatives would ensure the success of the upcoming Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
Ambassador B.Rejepov emphasized the high level of interstate relations based on the principles of ancestral good-neighborliness, mutual respect, and trust. The importance of further strengthening the partnership between the expert, scientific, and analytical communities of the two countries was noted.
In conclusion, the parties highlighted the special significance of the current year, in which Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan celebrate the 35th anniversary of their state independence. In this regard, an agreement was reached to hold a series of joint events aimed at further bringing the two fraternal nations closer together.
