Today, a presentation of the book by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, titled «Neutrality of Turkmenistan – a bright path of peace and trust», was held in the Azerbaijani language at the Institute of international relations of the Ministry of foreign affairs. The publication of this work has become a significant event, attesting to the progressive nature of the traditionally friendly intergovernmental dialogue.
The event was attended by officials and representatives from the MFA, the diplomatic corps accredited in our country, and the scientific and academic community.
During the presentation, the consistency of the foreign policy of the independent, neutral Fatherland, aimed at ensuring universal peace and promoting the principles of good-neighbourliness, friendship, and brotherhood, was noted. As the only state in the world whose status of permanent neutrality has been recognised three times by the General Assembly of the United Nations, Turkmenistan takes a stand on the international stage with creative initiatives for the well-being of all humanity. In his speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan G. Gozalov emphasised the special significance of the current presentation in revealing the role of Turkmen neutrality in strengthening peace, mutual understanding and trust, as well as in introducing the deeply meaningful work of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Azerbaijani readership.
It was noted that the book «Neutrality of Turkmenistan - a bright path to peace and trust» is a valuable guide for a broader understanding of the significance of the legal status of neutrality, based on the humanistic principles of the Turkmen people, who have always been committed to the ideals of peace and creation. It describes the basic criteria of neutrality of Turkmenistan as the basis of state policy, and the practical implementation of its potential in addressing pressing issues on the regional and global agenda.
At the presentation, particular attention was paid to the development of Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations, which are rooted in the historical, cultural, and spiritual affinity between the two peoples.
In this context, it was emphasized that, as a result of the consistent efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the interstate dialogue has in recent years reached a qualitatively new level, taking on the character of a strategic partnership. A clear confirmation of this is the mutual visits at the highest level and the agreements reached as a result.
In this regard, note was made of the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in significant events that recently took place, respectively, in the «Avaza» National tourist zone on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian sea and in Baku.
In addition, the importance of the cultural and humanitarian dimension of bilateral cooperation was emphasized, the intensification of which was demonstrated by the opening of the international art exhibition «Mother-nature» in Ashgabat on the 20th of October, organised by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan jointly with the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In this way, the publication of the book «Neutrality of Turkmenistan: a bright path of peace and trust» in the Azerbaijani language will provide fresh impetus to the further development of a fruitful interstate dialogue, serving as a meaningful contribution to the expansion of bilateral cultural and humanitarian exchanges and the strengthening of fraternal ties between our peoples.
