On the instructions of the Esteemed President, the delegation led by Cabinet Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a working visit to St. Petersburg, Russian Federation on June 3-4 this year and members of the delegation took part in the work of the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Today, interstate turkmen-russian relations, which are friendly, effective and strategic, are being supplemented with new content. The long-established fruitful cooperation, equality, mutual respect and historically established relations with large regions of the Russian Federation, including the city of St. Petersburg, are based on historical ties.
The participation of the delegation of our country under the leadership of Cabinet Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the work of the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum has become a clear indication of the active development of international cooperation in our country.

At the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Cabinet Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov outlined the priorities of the current urban development program.
Also announcing the official opening of the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin thanked the participants of the International Economic Forum in the northern capital of Russia for the establishment of international cooperation and the establishment of mutually beneficial relations. He also noted that the forum has become a platform for discussing economic issues that are important to the whole of humanity.
Following the discussion of the issues included in the agenda of the International Economic Forum, the delegation of our country, headed by Cabinet Deputy Chairman, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, held a number of bilateral meetings. Within the framework Cabinet Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the Governor of St.Petersburg Alexander Beglov.
During the talks, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, especially in the industrial sector. It was noted that a great deal of attention is paid to strengthening fruitful business relations with our country in St. Petersburg.
The head of the Turkmen delegation spoke about the importance of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which was attended by Turkmenistan, and noted the interest in creating a favorable investment climate in the country and realizing the potential of its ever-expanding transport and logistics infrastructure.
The head of the delegation, Cabinet Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov also had a meeting with Alexei Rakhmanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of «Объединённая судостроительная корпорация» Joint Stock Company. During the meeting, the sides discussed the future directions of cooperation within the framework of the strategy implemented in the transport sector of the country.
During the visit, the head of the delegation of Turkmenistan, Cabinet Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation.
During the meeting, the two countries expressed their unchangeable interest in further developing important relations in all areas. In this regard, it was noted that significant role was played in the development of Turkmen-Russian cooperation between the Intergovernmental Commission and the High-Level Trade and Investment Support Group.
Issues of cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such as transport, energy, industry, and finance, were also discussed.
Emphasis is placed on strengthening traditional humanitarian cooperation, education, science and culture, as well as healthcare.
During their visit to St. Petersburg, the delegation of Turkmenistan visited the Water World Exhibition Complex, which is part of the St. Petersburg Vodokanal State Unitary Enterprise. Here they were introduced to a large-scale exhibition of a very large city public company.

Members of the delegation thanked the organizers of the event for their impressive moments.
Then the members of the delegation of Turkmenistan toured the beautiful places of St. Petersburg. They observed the natural features of the area from the banks of the Newa River, the unique architectural harmony of the ancient city.
