Turkmenistan’s delegation chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister V.Hajiyev took part in the next round of the EU – Central Asia High Level Dialog on politics and security, which was held in Tashkent on the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers. It was informed by the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The delegation of European Union was chaired by Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service E.Mora. T.Hakala, who was appointed as Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia, has also took part in the meeting. In addition, delegation of Afghanistan chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Mirwais Nab, participated in the talks.
Development of regional cooperation in the condition of combating the pandemics has been discussed during the session. In this regard, Turkmen side has made special mention of the efficiency of trilateral partnership between the European Union, Central Asian countries and WHO under regional program of enforcement of response measures to the pandemics. In addition, the head of Turkmen delegation proposed an idea of organization of separate dialog with the Office of European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety. It was highlighted that Turkmenistan is willing to present the platform for development of provisions of future partnership in this sphere during coming International Forum of medical scientists in Ashgabat this November.
The participants of the talks have also discussed cooperation in borders’ management, combating illegal drug trafficking and organized crime, special attention at the meeting has been paid to development of transport and transit cooperation, support of trade, partnership in renewable energy and other subjects.
