The 16th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission on the commercial and economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation was held in Tashkent.
The delegation of Turkmenistan was headed by Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev, a Deputy Prime Minister on agro-industrial complex, and the Uzbek delegation was headed by Sardor Umurzakov, a Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign trade.
In the course of meeting the parties underlined the progress of the Turkmen-Uzbek negotiations at top level and their effect on further development of bilateral relations. In particular, the parties discussed the issues on broadening of the commercial and economic cooperation, industrial cooperation, as well as enhancing interaction in the energy, transport and transit spheres.
Special attention was paid to the partnership in the agriculture, in particular, water management in the region. Besides, the issues on environment protection, scientific-technical and cultural-humanitarian cooperation were discussed.
Upon the outcomes of the work the of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission the parties signed the Protocol.
