Young Turkmen ice-hockey players have got a wonderful opportunity to improve their skills under supervision of leading Russian coaches. Specially for this occasion, on the eve of the 1st National Ice-hockey Tournament for the Cup of the President of Turkmenistan, honored coaches of the Republic of Tatarstan, senior coach of the hockey school “Ak bars” (Kazan) Lenar Vildanov and Artem Gushin from the same sport school as well as representatives of St. Petersburg Sergey Gusev – instructor of hockey team of the Russian National State University of physical culture, sports and health named after Peter Lesgaft, and Oleg Tyulyukin – coach of hockey team “Guys of Vyborg”.
Incidentally, Artem Gushin has had an occasion to visit our country. He became a direct participant of the festive arrangements in honor of the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence. In those notable days, Artem played for the youth team “Ak bars” at the International Hockey Tournament taken place in the new Winter Sports Complex.
Sergey Gusev works as an instructor for nearly 20 years. Within this period, he was a major factor more than once in victory of his team of the State University (first Russian higher educational establishment for physical training and sports) during national students’ contests. At present, the students of the Russian National State University of physical culture, sports and health named after Peter Lesgaft are the reigning champions of Russia. The athletes trained by Oleg Tyulyukin also demonstrate good results on the national sport arena, winning prize places in the majority of cases.
Working with Turkmen guys, the Russian coaches make particular emphasis on the development of technical and physical training of athletes, teach fundamentals of technical-and-tactical acts on the ice field. Guest coaches particularly noted that the capital’s Winter Sports Complex has wonderful conditions for training of future “stars” of ice-hockey and other types of ice sport.
Besides practical trainings, the Russian specialists also conducted theoretical education of the sportsmen as well as coaches – Suleyman Durdiyev and Rustam Kerimov.
